My thoughts on the new Experience Pack for Tablet PC

There has been a lot of buzz on the new Experience Pack, and rightly so. They are a collection of some much improved utlities, as well as some new utilities that let us show off some of what you can do with a Tablet PC.

That said, here are some things that need to be addressed rather quickly by Microsoft
1) Release non-English versions, or at least let the Experience Pack install utilities that are language independent like the Snipping Tool. Now users outside the English language can't even download the a Snipping Tool because the old one is no longer available on the power toy page. Overall, the lack of the non-English versions is generating the loudest noise.

2. Performance of the Ink Desktop . Lots of reports about performance issues, installing, startup and stability. BTW: inking on the desktop is great, but we really need a way to do something with the ink besides copying the entire screen, like a Lasso tool. My belief is that people who try inking on the desktop and really like it will want OrangeGuava. If they don't care for it, they won't use it and will stick with Journal or StickyNotes.

3. Stability of the Crossword Puzzle - Lots of reports about the Crossword puzzle crashing when about 80% complete.

So, when can we expect Service Pack 1 for the Experience Pack?

Here is a good thread to follow on TabletPCBuzz.com
