Visioneer has had a bunch of scanners like this for a long time (I bought one over 2 years ago):

They look alot bulkier than the OpticSlim

You're right... the Visioneer is 0.17" deeper, 0.15" taller, and 0.62" wider, but is 30g lighter and scans twice as fast.

However, none of the Visisioneer product work with Linux; this one does.
