An update on Maggie

God has been good to Maggie this week.

On Tuesday around 11:00 am, Maggie made a break through. She started playing basketball, doing lay-ups, and walking around the block. The WNBA style basketball activity came to halt after the surgeon found out.

Maggie met with her speech and physical therapists this week – they are astounded with what they are seeing: no more tremor activity in her muscles, fantastic processing and logic skills, and ability to hold her attention. These are things that they have been working on for months and have never seen in her before.

Her neurologist has found no neurological deficits and is about as happy as we have ever seen him. Giddy would be a good way to describe his behavior.

Kathi and I are getting very excited. Instead of tears of fear, the Lord has given us tears of joy and they are so wonderful to feel on your cheeks. Pray for us as we begin to enjoy what God has given us and enter into the delicate area of trust. Maggie and the rest of us have hope.

Enjoy your weekend.

Blessings,

Rob Bushway

Hey Rob I'm really glad to hear that. When is Maggie gonna join Einstein Tech so she can help me with TEO?

This is wonderful news.

Good to hear that. I wish her complete recovery very soon.

Rob,

I only know you through this blog but I'm pulling for you and Maggie in Birmingham, Alabama. Thanks for the update and the fantastic news. I'll pray for both of you tonight.

Rob - as we say in my tribe: Mazel Tov! To Maggie and your entire family. Wonderful news. She is a truly courageous person.

Rob - What a wonderful blessing! This post put a wonderful smile on my face. My family is lifting yours up in prayer.

Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing; thou hast girded me with gladness to the end that my glory may sing praise to thee and not be silent. O Lord my God I will give thanks unto thee forever.

Psalm 30:11-12

Thank you to everyone for your wonderful words and encouragement. They are much appreciated. I'll keep everyone posted on how the next several weeks play out.

It feels good to be on this side of her surgery and to see her doing so well.

I can't tell you how thrilled I am to hear this news, Rob! It's amazing how far we've come as a people, and what can be done when you combine modern technology with someone possessed of a strong spirit like Maggie.

Great news!
